‘Rusty Jacks’ are a ‘Southern Blues band’ formed in the past 2 years.
Having toured for several years in seperate bands and
admirably served their time on the world stage, (even working back stage with the likes of Rory Gallagher and Mama‘s Boys) has seemed the obvious decision to join together.
A talented outfit who’s stage chemistry shines
through, their gigs are more a ‘stage jam’ than a rehearsed show.
With their’tongue in cheek name’,there is nothing ‘Rusty’ about
these musicians. ‘better and stronger’ than ever, with massive ambition for the future.
With years of experience they lifted the bar to a new level when
they produced their first album,‘ Movin On’,nine fabulous original new songs, covering several styles, to match any of their contemporarys.
It has been widely acclaimed and is currently being played on radio stations worldwide.
Following the success of ‘Movin On’,the band have been in the Studio recording their second album ‘Holler ‘n’ Howl‘, which has now being launched to rave reviews from the music press.
It has also created a stir in 'the Blues World', resulting in a lot of airplay on radio stations worldwide.
Taking their influences from their love of America’s Deep South Blues and adding their own Irish twist, ’the lads’ created a fantastic album, which they are proud of.
Covering all aspects of the ‘Southern Blues’ genre, they have
produced ten fabulous original songs and added two old classics.
Steaming hot guitars, haunting slide guitar, thundering rhythm section,
rasping gravily vocals and a sprinkling of harmonica licks, this album has
‘Something for everyone’.
Their gig song set is a healthy mix of their own material and strong favourites from the likes of ZZ Top, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Stevie Ray Vaughan,
Rory Gallagher, JJ.Cale, Allman Brothers, Tom Petty, Blackfoot, to name but a few.
Over the years they have played with the likes of Taste, The Ronnie Greer Band, Mamas Boys, Pat Mc Manus, Grainne Duffy, Jim Armstrong and many more.
‘Rusty Jacks’, a formidable band with a formidable future
