ABCE Second Educational conference in association with Engineers Ireland and hosted in Ulster University in Belfast:
22 February 2019 @ Conor Lecture theatre, 4.30 pm at Belfast campus. Special guests from different Educational organisations from Northern Ireland and Bulgaria and with representatives from Bulgarian schools abroad all over the Globe 🌍
23 February 2019, 9am at Ulster University Belfast. Program includes EDUCATIONAL TRAINING FOR Bulgarian teachers abroad.
24 February 2019- tour around Belfast.

Please note that Program below is not final and some details could be changed near/at the time of conference.

Provisional program:
Friday 22nd — Conor Lecture Theatre. Coffee Tea and biscuits from 4:30pm.‬
‪5pm Introduction and welcome from Prof. Paul Bartholomew/ Prof. Raffaella Folli or associated representatives (University), Valentina Stefanova (ABCE) and Robert Eadie (Engineers Ireland)
‪5:30 Eileen Chan-Hu- Diversity and Inclusion in the Workplace. (Employment law for ethnic minorities and this will also cover the rules and regulations already in place to combat discrimination). Eileen Chan-Hu is the current director of Cultivate Respect, Appreciate Inclusion in Communities in Northern Ireland (CRAICNI) which offers diversity and cultural awareness training services in Northern Ireland.‬
‪6pm Snezhina Mecheva (To be Confirmed) — Principal for Bulgarian School “Ivan Stanchov”, London ‬
‪Adriana Lyubenova and Boyanka Ivanova Represents Association of Bulgarian Schools Abroad. The content of programmes and curriculum.
‪6:30 Rosin McAvoy (To be Confirmed) — Acceptance to University by Ethnic Minorities and the impact of BREXIT.
‪7pm-7:15 coffee and tea‬
‪7:15 Nataliya Mihalevska (To be confirmed) Representative from the Bulgarian Ministry of Education.
‪7:45 Robert Eadie (Confirmed) (Engineers Ireland) Demand for Engineers and Mateusz Dabkowski (Confirmed) Ethnic Minority Student Experience.‬
‪8:15 Moira Thompson (To be Confirmed) (Principal Hazelwood) Dealing with Ethnic Minority Pupils in mainstream education.

‪Saturday 23rd — Two Educational training sessions
Teacher Training for Bulgarian Schools abroad.
‪9am -9:30am Valentina Stefanova — The Bulgarian Context and the First Bulgarian School in Armagh.(5 min)‬
‪Association of Bulgarian schools abroad-Representatives (Names to be confirmed) speeches (10 min)‬
‪Ievgeniya Nikyforova- Brain development in bilingual children -Workshop facilitator (15 min)‬
‪9:30-1pm Session on Teacher Training 1‬
1pm-2pm Lunch
‪2pm-5pm Session on Teacher Training 2‬
These two sessions are for a course in teacher training which will result in a Bulgarian certificate worth 1 or 2 ECTS education credits. This is equivalent to 2 or 4 credit points in the UK system adopted by Ulster. The training has been provided by Bulgarian University Plovdiv University — «Paisii Hilendarski” by Prof.dr.p.s Rumyana Tankova ( or her associated colleague). Course will be in Bulgarian language.

24 February 2019- Tour around Belfast for Bulgarian delegates.

10 am-12 noon Tour

To register yourself for Conference you have to book your place at Eventbrite for each day separately, which will be open for registration next week (WB 14 January 2019). For training sessions candidates must fill additional form by email, that is available by contacting Valentina Ivanova Stefanova).
We recommend EVERYONE to register at EVENTBRITE before 22 February as you will need a security pass for access to the Conference in Ulster University.
