The Belfast Branch of the Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign presents an afternoon of discussion with Asad Abu Shark in the Cultúrlann McAdam Ó Fiaich on Saturday the 12th of January at 2pm.
Asad Abushark is an official spokesperson for the Palestinian people’s Great March of Return. Since March of this year, over 200 people have been shot dead and thousands more have been shot and wounded by Israeli military forces while taking part in weekly March of Return protests.
Please attend and bring a friend.
Asad Abu Sharkh's talk will deal with the following points:
— Israel as a Zionist settler colonial state documenting this with a historical survey
— As a settler colonialist state Israel is bent on the ethnic-cleansing of the indigenous Palestinian population using two tools: 1. elimination, 2. dehumanisation.
— The importance of the great march of return and the BDS campaign as two important non-violent and peaceful tools defending our rights.
— The west mainly the USA and British support for Apartheid Israel encouraging her to perpetuate its policy of occupation and ethnic-cleansing
— The struggle of the Palestinian people to regain their rights within the UN organisation and human rights organisations and the international law
— The solution proposed to put an end to the conflict is through the establishment of a secular non sectarian democratic state in historic Palestine where all citizens regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, sex or colour can live in peace, justice and equality in historic Palestine that guarantees the Palestinian peoples right to self-determination and of return
